The name of the site is inspired by two verses from the Letter to the Hebrews;
'For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And before him no creature is hidden, but all are open and laid bare to the eyes of him with whom we have to do' (Heb 4:12-13)
The text provides a key to the nature of my work and also to the original purpose of the site. I lecture on Scripture at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (PUST) and I wished to make my lecture notes, etc. available to my students in a way that would not result in further deforestation.
The site is a work in progress. At the moment, it reflects the fact that I am a member of the Augustinian Order and I currently live in St. Patrick’s College in Rome. But, like the Word of God, it is hoped that it will take on a life of its own.
